"Upon the harp will I praise Thee, my God." (Psalm 43:4) This is the inspiration for "Celestial Strings", the music ministry of Rev. William Reister, an ordained Lutheran minister and member of the American Harp Society and Florida Harpists and Friends. His extensive repertoire of sacred, pop, folk, and classical music has delighted audiences at banquets, weddings, church services, and private parties. Educational harp programs are available for clubs, church groups, retirement communities, and schools. Brought together in 1981 by their love for music and church work, Pastor Bill and Susan have shared more than 25 years of music ministry. Bill began his study of the Harp at Jacksonville University and since 1998 has enjoyed performing for many social events in the church and community. The harp has become his passion and also an extension of his ministry as the Pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. In addition to his numerous professional engagements each year he continues to play for religious services, church groups, and shut-in members of his congregation. He also plays the piano, synthesizer, guitar, and saxophone and has been a song leader for conventions and conferences throughout his 25+ year ministry. He frequently provides vocal solos and has performed with many choral groups including the Wartburg College Castle Singers, The Concordia Seminary Chorus, The Big Orange Barbershop Chorus, and the Victorian Carolers of Jacksonville who have sung at Disney world hotels and other venues for the past 11 years during the Christmas season. He thanks God for the wonderful gift of music and the many opportunities that he is given to share the joy of his Christian faith with the harp and song.
