Biography: |
|
A native Texan, Kela has been
performing and teaching professionally in the central
and southeast Texas since 1998. Kela actively performs
as a freelance harpist in the Austin area and is
versatile in classical, sacred and popular music styles.
Her previous performances include wedding ceremonies and
receptions; engagement, anniversary, and holiday
parties; fund raisers, luncheons, and other special
events.
Kela Walton holds a BM in Harp Performance from the
University Of Texas At Austin where she studied with
Gayle Barrington, as well as a MM in Harp Performance
and Pedagogy from the University Of Houston Moores
School Of Music where she studied with Houston Symphony
harpist Paula Page. Additionally she is an alumnus if
the Salzedo School in Camden, Maine where she studied
with Alice Chalifoux.
