Description: |
|
The harp's breathtaking looks and
beautiful sound are ideal for weddings and functions. It
is one of the most adaptable instruments, creating a
unique atmosphere for each celebration. The harp can be
transported to venues where there is no piano and fit
where there would be no room for other instruments.
Karen's harp is a custom made one of a kind
electrical harp which allows it to be easily amplified
for medium weddings. It also gives her the ability to
plug into a bigger sound system for larger weddings. Harp
music doesn't need other instruments, but there are
lovely ensemble combinations - try flute and harp,
violin and harp, cello and harp as well as clarinet,
oboe or even other harps! As well as diverse religious
and civil weddings, Karen's harp has been carried
into a cornfield, to the top of Mt. Tamalpais, and to
the beach for some truly unique ceremonies! |

Biography: |
|
Karen has studied music for ten
years. She attended UC Santa Cruz and earned a
Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance in 2001. After
completing her degree Karen taught music to Elementary
and Junior High School aged children working under a
grant to provide musical education in under-funded
schools. She continues to teach music privately,
helping people of all ages learn both piano and harp.
Karen has worked as a free lance harpist since 1999.
She has been honored to accompany the UC Santa Cruz
symphony, wind ensemble, opera and latin american
ensembles, in addition to the Monterey Bay Ensemble,
Classical to GO, the Gilroy Symphony, and countless
weddings and special events. |
